I prefer aid that provides something, rather than calms the conscience......
Maciej Formanowicz

FORTE is an active participant of the social life. One of the fundamental pillars of our responsibility is the implementation of dialogue and partnership cooperation with the environment.

We want to be present in the places, where we carry out our manufacturing activity – therefore, the significant part of our projects consists of the support for initiatives that operate for the benefit of local communities. We commit to numerous activities that improve the lives of residents in the scope of development and promotion of education, culture, ecology and others - in accordance with their needs and expectations.

Every road begins with the first step. However, before this step, something has to happen in order to get up and go further. In response to numerous needs and requests submitted to the company, Anna Formanowicz and Maciej Formanowicz established AMF Foundation “Nasza Droga” (“Our Road”) in 1998. We recognized that working with the high school youth and university students, who are talented but also in need of support and who come from Ostrów Mazowiecka County, will be the most appropriate form of our commitment. We support each other in search of the right road, which is built on universal values, in regard to making good choices. We learn how to build a relation with others, which is based on understanding and trust. We try to be creative and responsible, while fully accepting the individual characteristics of each one of us. We organize meetings, lectures, workshops, cultural trips, summer camps, domestic trips and foreign trips. Young people also receive scholarships. We hope that we’re going to be able to achieve as much as possible on our common road, while adding our bit in order to build a better world.

There are many needs – but there are also many of us! Among more than three thousand FORTE employees, there are many people who want to change their immediate surroundings and do something together for the benefit of others. The program of employee initiatives “FORMY – FABRYKA INICJATYW” (“FORMS – FACTORY OF INITIATIVES”) was created precisely for them. As part of this program, each FORTE employee may apply to receive financial or non-financial support for the implementation of its own project aimed at local communities, in the cities where FORTE carries out its activity.

The development of society is inextricably connected to the development of culture. Thus, we are keen to engage in the important cultural events of local nature, in the cities where our employees work and live. Every year, we support the organization of undertakings which also contribute to the promotion of the given region, e.g.: Suwałki Blues Festival - the largest outdoor blues festival in Poland - unique event of international range or the Festival of Orthodox Church Music in Hajnówka which aims at the presentation of global achievements and popularization of high artistic and spiritual values of orthodox church music. We offer support to social projects which activate the local communities, promote integration and improve the quality of life of the residents. We participate in the annual celebrations of City Days and Harvest Festival. We cooperate with the University of the Third Age and many non-governmental organizations that promote local culture and art.

We cooperate with universities, high schools and local city governments in order to develop vocational education and training. We support research, as well as educational and scientific activity in the scope of development of wood and furniture industry. Representatives of FORTE staff participate in conferences and trade meetings, during which they share their professional knowledge and experience. In 2016, FORTE patronage class was created in Ostrów Mazowiecka, where the future wood technologists are educated. We offer a rich program of paid internships and apprenticeships for students, while our factories and offices are open to high school students and middle school students, and we are happy to show them how the work in FORTE looks like.
